2017 Grand World Voyage, Day 176, Muscat, Oman (Part 2 of 2)

Ellie, Ann and I set out for our early tour at 0730 this morning and met up with our guide/driver Salim Marhoon and headed out to explore Oman…..  On our drive to Al Hamra we made a photo stop at the Ghul, the old village with abandoned Persian ruins over 450 years old.  Then drove along Wadi Nakuru on our way to visit the Jebal Shams, the Grand Canyon with photo stops along the way, mountain goats running around everywhere….. The drive was spectacular as we climbed up to 3000 meters to the highest peak in Oman to reach

the Jebal Shams Grand Canyon, just breathtaking!!!!!  We then passed the picturesque village of Al Abrein which is strapped to the side of a mountain with the visage of Al Hamra below.

Our final stop was a view high above the over 400 year old village of Barkat Al Mouzi , it was a very beautiful and a wonderful photo stop.  We arrived back at the ship very pleased with our day and wonderful guide.  It certainly was my best visit to Muscat that I can remember.....  This is a two part blog, here is part two.
