1000 Islands Helicopter Tour

Today’s adventure was a spur of the moment decision and paid dividends as a an absolutely amazing photo shoot.  Ann, Cathy and I took a Thousand Islands helicopter tour a which is must-do experience for any visitor to the 1000 Islands, worth the splurge.  The 1000 Islands region has endless granite shorelines and a place of exceptional natural beauty which serves as an important waterway for both the U.S. and Canada. Taking the bird’s eye view changed my whole perspective of the 1000 Islands. Within seconds after takeoff we could see the unspoiled beauty and splendor of the St. Lawrence Parks and Town of Gananoque.  It was a beautiful clear day for the flight and we could see for miles and miles and miles….  Next we flew to the U.S. side of the St Lawrence seaway shipping channel and passed over Clayton, Alexandria Bay, New York and the American span of the Thousand Island bridge. Our flight over Boldt and Singer (Singer Sewing Machine Co.) Castles provided the most amazing close up view of the area’s fabulous castles.  We returned to Gananoque via the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence, passing the by the Canadian span of the bridge, the Sky Deck, and the stunning views of the lavish homes and cottages.  Our pilot Jordan, Chief Pilot for Kouri’s Kopters was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us informed and answered questions throughout the flight.  This helicopter tour was a truly unique and exhilarating way to experience the beauty of the 1000 islands……  it is something worthy of anyone’s bucket list!!!!
